"description_short": "A 50 mm black edge with three 20 cm spiral spikes per metre in the box. The cheapest way to get a clean line.",
"description": "Plastic edging has a reputation problem, most of it earned by thin brown strip that goes brittle in two summers. This is not that. It is heavy gauge recycled plastic, and the thing that makes it work is the spike rather than the strip.\n\nThe spikes are 20 cm and spiralled. A straight peg in wet clay works its way up every freeze and thaw cycle until the edge is standing proud of the lawn by spring. A spiral has to rotate to come out, and it does not.\n\nInstallation is genuinely a job for one person and a rubber mallet. Lay the run, push the edge into the line you want, then drive the spikes through the tabs. There is no trench.\n\nFor a run shorter than a metre, cut it with garden shears. We ship whole metres, so nothing is cut to your measurement before it leaves us and this shop's 15 day change-of-mind policy covers it like anything else here.\n\nIf you want more spikes than the three per metre that come as standard, the plastic edging spikes are sold separately in packs of 10, 50 and 100.\n\nStandard delivery is €25 anywhere in Ireland, and free once your order reaches €100. Express Shipping is a paid option at €25 on any order.\n\nYou have 15 days from delivery to change your mind, one day more than the 14 days Irish consumer law gives on an online order. Send the goods back with proof of purchase, in their original packaging if you still have it. Return postage is at your cost, and nothing is deducted for handling. Faulty or misdescribed goods are a separate matter under the Consumer Rights Act 2022.",
